چکیده

Aim: Laboratory coats may act as fomites for the continued dissemination of antibiotic resistant bacteria. This study aimed at detecting level and type microorganisms’ on laboratory students Dora Akunyili College Pharmacy, Igbinedion University Okada, Edo State. Nigeria.
Place Duration Study: Nigeria between September October, 2020.
Methodology: A total 20 pharmacy working in various laboratories college were included to evaluate bacterial contamination coats. Swabs obtained from 3 different areas coat – collar, pocket, wrist processed Pharmaceutical Microbiology based standard microbiological techniques. Antibiotic susceptibility testing was carried out isolates by Kirby-Bauer method 10 antibiotics.
Results: revealed that 83% contaminated with Staphylococcus spp. White male subjects more than female pockets sites which had highest percentage finding sensitivity showed cloxacillin, erythromycin, ceftriaxone, cefuroxime, ceftazidime, augmentin oxacillin.
Conclusion: The detection spp suggests clothing harbor pathogenic organisms. also highlights importance potential source cross infection.

Antibiotic Susceptibility of Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus Spp. Isolated from some Hospitals in Tehran

Abstract Background and Objective: Vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) are the leading nosocomial pathogens in Iran. We aimed at evaluating the resistance patterns of Staphylococcus aureus and enterococci to the antibiotics recommended by Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI). Material and Methods: Two-hu...

Induction of telithromycin resistance by erythromycin in isolates of macrolide-resistant Staphylococcus spp.

Staphylococcal isolates were examined for possible macrolide-inducible resistance to telithromycin. All macrolide-resistant isolates demonstrated telithromycin D-shaped zones. This result did not discriminate between resistance due to an efflux mechanism (msrA) or a ribosomal target modification (ermA or ermC). Inducible telithromycin resistance in staphylococci does not appear to be analogous ...

The Spread of Beta Lactam Antibiotic-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis Strains in Hospital

Bachground and objectives: Hospital surfaces can serve as reservoirs of potential pathogen bacteria. Staff hands are the most important source of transmission in hospital. The prevalence of β–lactamase producer bacteria in staff hands and hospital surfaces, increase antibiotic resistance nosocomial infection. The aim of this study was to survey the spread of beta-lactam resistance St...
